7. Rusanivka and Berezniaky

Somehow the territory of nowadays Rusanivka remained uninhabited during XIX - first half of XX c. The construction of big housing estate changed the landscape of left bank. Pictured are one of he first buidings.

New bridge over Rusanivsky Channel which appeared after sand was taken to raise the surface level. It is because of this channel and location on an island that Rusanivka is called Kiev Venice. Rusanivska Naberezhna is under construction. On the left side of the picture is no longer used old road that linked Navodnycki Bridge with Mykilska Slobidka.

The view of Prospekt Vozzjednannia. The channel has no embankments and on the other side are remains of Kuchmisterska Slobidka. The house hidden in green area is one of few houses that survived.

The view of Berezniaky at tram stretch "Bulvar Davydova - Rusanivka" and near "Desna" cinema. 1972 was marked with a big reconstruction in this area when tracks were moved closer to the channel; the road was slightly widened with pedestrian underground crossings built.

Bus route # 87 became the second one linking South-West Berezniaky with Livoberezna metro station from ca. 1973. During dozen of years Ikarus-260 was the main type of rolling stock, one of such buses is depicted near Livoberezna metro station.

Another bus route that appeared later (# 95) and again was serviced by Ikarus-260. 44-44 кищ crosses the bridge over Rusanivsky channel.
